Its long, narrow layout gives kids a real head-to-head race without requiring the width of one of our large multi-piece courses. The Backyard Obstacle measures approximately 40 feet long, 11 feet wide and 13 feet high and combines crawling, climbing and a slide finish. It is designed for dry use and normally requires one separate 120V grounded electrical circuit, making it a practical starting point for many residential events. Great for Club Family Days & Larger GatheringsNew Canaan also has a long history of club and organization events where obstacle courses are used alongside bounce houses, attendants and other attractions. The Country Club of New Canaan, for example, has repeatedly included the Backyard Obstacle as part of family events over multiple seasons. For events like these, an obstacle course works especially well because participants continually enter, race through the attraction, exit and make room for the next group. That creates a very different experience from a traditional bounce house and makes obstacle courses a strong choice when you expect a steady flow of kids throughout the event. Need Something Bigger Than the Backyard Course?New Canaan also has a long history with the Adrenaline Rush . This three-piece obstacle course adds substantially more challenge and visual impact with tunnels, inflatable obstacles, climbing areas and a large finishing slide. Adrenaline Rush measures approximately 34 feet long, 23 feet wide and 14 feet high and is designed for dry use. Because it requires three separate 120V grounded electrical circuits, it's better suited to events where both space and power have been planned ahead of time. It's an especially natural match for an obstacle race: Sonic already brings a speed theme to the party before the first participant even enters the inflatable. New Canaan customers have already begun choosing Sonic for local events, so it made sense to feature this newer course on the updated town page rather than showing the same older obstacle used on every location page. Plenty of Themes Beyond SonicIf Sonic doesn't match the party, there are several other themed racing courses to choose from. Current options include Avengers, Jurassic World, Spider-Man, Star Wars and Despicable Me. These larger themed courses are especially useful when you want the inflatable to do double duty as both the main activity and one of the biggest visual elements of the celebration. Several New Canaan customers have chosen these themed courses in recent seasons, including Star Wars, Spider-Man, Jurassic World, Despicable Me and Avengers. Keep Kids Moving at School & Community EventsAn obstacle course works particularly well when you're trying to entertain a larger group of children. We need to consider available yard or field space, access to the setup location and the electrical circuits available nearby. A Backyard Obstacle normally requires only one separate circuit, while a larger attraction such as Adrenaline Rush requires three. If enough power isn't available at the setup area, ask us about generator options . For schools, clubs and larger organizations, please also tell us about gates, hills, long distances, blacktop setups and any same-day pickup requirements when planning the event.
